Who will I play against?
Other players searching in the same mode and region, matched by rating so that both teams have an even chance. A party always plays together, on one team. When few players are online, matches may be filled with AI players.
How do ranked placements work?
Your first 10 ranked matches of a season are placement matches. Until you have played them your rank shows as Unplaced; after the tenth you get your rank, and from then on every ranked match moves your rating up or down.
Which region should I pick?
The one closest to you. You choose a region when you search: you are matched with players searching in the same region, and the match is played on a server there, so a nearer region means a lower ping.
What does a win pay?
A win pays GBFG, the game’s currency: 25 GBFG for an unranked match and 250 GBFG for a ranked one, added to your balance when the match is recorded. A loss pays nothing. The result screen always says what a match paid you.
